So whatever route you take, here are some tips we must take while travelling to Jim Corbett National Park.

1. Little things matter most- The first tip

• Always keep some snacks and eatables that don’t spoil. If travelling by road to Corbett, sometimes nothing is available for a stretch, but hunger cannot be at bay, especially for kids.
• Stock on water and lassi or fresh juice tetra packs to hydrate yourself: This is especially true if the journey is taken during the hot months of April to May when temperatures are high.

2. Check your hotel thoroughly- the second tip

• Carefully look at the credentials of the place where you are staying. Corbett has many places to for spending vacations. While some are within or close to the jungle, others may be on the periphery.
• Look at your priority- do you want more entertainment for the kids than a simple safari? Do you want to focus on the safari? What is your budget for the hotel stay? What is the opinion of the Guests who have stayed previously?

3. Making a journey is not a child's play- the third tip

• If travelling by plane, take care to accompany the children to washrooms or elevators at the airport, and if travelling by road, ensure that they do not stick their heads or hands out.
• The earnest airport is Pantnagar airport, a one-and-half-hour drive from the national park.
• While going for the Jungle safari, ensure everyone understands the dos and don'ts within the jungle. Ask the children to keep quiet and ensure that no one gets down on the track and that you follow the designated path in the forest.

4 Book in advance- the fourth tip

• In Corbett, only 60 vehicles are allowed inside the park at a time, so book in advance, especially on weekends when the rush is more.
• The park is closed during the monsoon, and the official websites display the exact dates. For example, in 2020, the gates were closed from 15 th June to 10 th October. During this period, even the night halts inside the park are closed. So make enquiries before the journey.

6. Keep the mosquitoes away- the sixth tip

• The Corbett park falls in the Terai region, and with dense vegetation in proximity to plenty of water, it is full of insects and mosquitoes.

• Take some soup packers and Maggi- keep yourself warm and full.

8. Essential kit- the eighth tip

• Prepare a first-aid kit containing cotton wool, antibacterial ointment, pain reliever spray, and adhesive bandages. Just in case, keep cough, fever, cold, indigestion, and nausea medications on hand.
• Carry a couple of additional doses if you're already on medication. Those prone to motion sickness should take homoeopathic medicine or Domistal, and chewing gum can help prevent nausea.
• Wear a hat to protect yourself from sunburn, and bring enough drinking water to stay hydrated. If you have food allergies, be sure you know what you're ordering before you eat it.
